
Mingma Sherpa
Mingma (Mimi) Sherpa is a rising junior at Duke Kunshan University. Originally from Kathmandu, Nepal, her hometown is a small tourist town nestled in the lap of Everest. She is interested in studying the management and treatment of non-communicable chronic diseases, particularly in settings with limited health resources. In Dr. Ni’s lab, she is currently researching the potential of using mHealth to improve anti-hypertension medication adherence by strengthening the current status quo of the doctor-patient relationship in Kathmandu.

Trailokaya Raj Bajgain
Trailokaya has a deep interest in the multidimensional applications of data science, and aims to focus on environmental sciences, specifically modeling air pollution. He also has a passion for planetary and digital health. As a member of the lab, he aspires to enhance his understanding of these fields and make contributions to environmental health. Currently, he is leading our subteam, which focuses on establishing formative research and collaborative partnerships in Nepal.

Sabhyata Jha
With a diverse range of experiences and a Bachelor of Science degree in Data Science, Sabhyata is passionate about leveraging technology and artificial intelligence to drive positive advancements in the healthcare domain, with a focus on people-centered solutions. Having lived in Nepal and pursued education in China and the US, Sabhyata is eager to engage in active collaboration, embrace diverse perspectives, and collectively work towards common goals alongside stakeholders from across the globe at the HiFi Lab.

Sunyoung Oh, MSN, RN
As a Ph.D. student, Oh's passion lies in advancing nursing science with a strong commitment to translating research findings into practical applications that can positively impact cardiovascular health outcomes. Her research focuses on oral health behavior in patients with cardiovascular disease. Oh's research aims at improving health outcomes by enhancing health behaviors in patients with cardiovascular disease.
